The Beginning

A World Consumed by Darkness

In Taisho-era Japan, a world of gaslit streets and ancient forests hides a terrible secret — demons stalk the night, preying upon the innocent with centuries of cruelty and power.

Tanjiro Kamado, a gentle-hearted young boy who sells charcoal to support his family, returns home one day to find his world shattered. His family has been slaughtered by a demon, and his beloved sister Nezuko has been transformed into one of the very monsters that destroyed them.

Yet Nezuko is different. Against all reason, a fragment of her humanity remains. Refusing to give up on her, Tanjiro vows to join the Demon Slayer Corps — an ancient, secretive organization of warriors — to find a way to restore his sister's humanity and avenge his fallen family.

His journey will take him from the frozen mountains of his childhood into the depths of demon society itself, confronting the terrifying Twelve Kizuki and their immortal lord, Muzan Kibutsuji — the progenitor of all demons.
